SE5'S ALIVE WITH ARTISTS

9 June 2010

Camberwell Arts Festival is back and is packed full of events celebrating the area and its creative community.

This year’s festival, from June 19 to 27, takes art out of the studios and into the streets. From pubs to parks, cafes to crypts, the whole of Camberwell will become a gallery.

A varied programme includes exhibitions, events, walks, talks, open studios and screenings. You can also join artists for a series of creative journeys, including making your own mark in Taking a Line for a Walk, a group drawing project. Now in its sixteenth year, the festival celebrates the artistic community in Camberwell.

SATURDAY 19TH JUNE

TAKING A LINE FOR A WALK
T: 079 4112 5901

2-8pm

Drawing together the many projects that make up this year's Camberwell Arts Festival, Taking a Line for a Walk is an exploration of contemporary drawing practice. To open the Festival, people are invited to take part in a series of live drawing activities that provide an opportunity for artists, residents and visitors to meet, work together and join up art practice.

So put on your walking shoes and prepare for hot pursuit across Camberwell. Your starting point: the noticeboard on Camberwell Green or download a map from www.camberwellarts.org.uk.  Your mission: to walk the line, negotiate a series of drawing checkpoints and discover the secret destination for the Camberwell Arts Festival
opening party.
